FileStar is a conglomeration of contributions from anyone who wishes to contribute so, of course, there have to be a few rules to keep the place tidy and legal.
Copyright - We are happy to include files, images and content which are proveable to be in the public domain, or to which you can prove you hold the copyright or have written permission to distribute it publicly by placing it on this site. We accept no responsibilty or liability for the inclusion of copyrighted material contributed by third parties, and will promptly remove any such items that you hold the copyright to and request us to remove - Please use the Contact Form to let us know, giving your reason(s) for requesting removal of any item(s).
Files - We are happy to include files for download using the same copyright stipulations as above - We accept freeware and shareware files (no commercial software), and files licenced under the GNU Public Licence or similar. We accept files in ZIP or RAR archive format, and a text file must be included within the archive clearly detailing any copyright, distribution and licencing restrictions. We reserve the right to accept or decline any such files at our own discretion.
Images - You may add images (or entire galleries) to our site, provided that you follow the copyright guidelines stipulated above. We do not accept ANY form of pornographic content - Our judgement on whether any item is pornographic or not may be different to yours and, as it's our site, our decision on the suitability of any image(s) for inclusion here is final and non-negotiable.
Links - We are happy to include links to any places of interest on the world wide web. We do not, however, accept links to adult, warez or pirate software sites, sites promoting any form of prejudice or illegality, or anything remotely concerned with spam mail or mass mailing lists.
Content and Comments - We support and uphold everyone's rights to free speech. However, we reserve the right to decline any content which in our opinion is prejudicial, inciting, inflamatory or does not mirror our own easy-going, get-along-with-everyone attitude.
We created this site as a place where people from around the world can share - Please use the site in the spirit for which it is intended, and respect the rights of other people to disagree with you. The default language of this web site is English - We cannot review or moderate any items contributed which we cannot understand! Thank you for your understanding.
